For the Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Use low sodium for a healthier option.
  • 3 tbsp honey Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic works best.
  • 1 tsp grated ginger Fresh ginger enhances the flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes Optional for a hint of spice.

For the Chicken

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces Thighs offer more moisture.
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch For coating the chicken to achieve a crispy texture.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil For cooking the chicken.

For the Noodles

  • 8 oz noodles (rice or egg noodles) Cook according to package instructions.
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds Optional for garnish.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes to create the sauce.
  • Toss the bite-sized pieces of chicken in cornstarch until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  • Add the coated chicken pieces and cook for about 6 to 8 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and allow to simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until it thickens.
  • Meanwhile, cook the noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.

Assembly

  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the sticky chicken and toss to combine.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently and add a splash of water if the sauce thickens.
