Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and cook the chicken breasts for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.

Cooking

  • In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and chopped onions, sautéing until softened (about 3 to 4 minutes).
  • Add the heavy cream to the skillet and stir to combine, letting it simmer for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the mushroom and onion mixture evenly over them.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted.

Notes

Serve directly from the baking dish accompanied by sides like mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, or garden salad. Garnish with parsley or green onions.
